Rockman EXE4~6 Card e-Reader+ Promotional Card Listing

In 2008, I was working on a complete listing for every card for EXE4~6 cards in an Excel document. I managed to finish 4. But with 5 and 6, I've only completed all promotional cards since they seemed more important to me at the time.

I've revised and relisted every promotional card to date and the location of each of them, for anyone that was still wanting to collect them and wanted any information about them. I left out effects for any Modification Cards from my spreadsheets with the exception of 4's Weapon Change card since it might not be obvious for the Card Title on the card itself, plus it takes up too much room with in-depth listings. Color styling is also in the form true to the way the actual card are with their titles and card background. Maybe some other day I'll get to releasing my listings for normal cards and effects.

Rockman EXE4 10th Anniversary

I'd hate to ruin any kind of original series stuff I've had posted since we did have a breakthrough with the PocketStation stuff last month. A breakthrough for me anyway. But it's only right since the time has come.

To start this story off. It took me quite some time to get into the EXE series. But when I did, I started needing to have something other than the PSX Rockman games to collect at the time. Since the first localized release. I hated waiting for those to come. Either bad typos or changes / removals, the delays were awful, especially for the second game. Until then, I started having to collect them in Japanese like I did with the PSX games. Up to this time, the games would release with one version. Until Battle Network Rockman EXE3 came along, it released in December, and in March a second version was slated for release. Before an announcement, many people wondered about these "extra" Giga Class Chips within plain 3. And a few people had found a Shadow Style within the game. Not to mention, with the Anime still shown during the time, and merchandising like the Card Game, and the Plug-In PET, it would release things called Lotto Numbers. Which are numbered codes within the game data to give out new prizes during each week or month to be released. 3 was supposed to the end the series I believe, correct me if I'm wrong. But sales were probably just good enough for a second version release, not to mention the merchandising again.

4 had been announced during the Summer of 2003, with smaller sprites / maps in over world view so they could show more on the screen. A simultaneous release for two versions, more merchandising and a new Anime would come as well to hype the game's release up with more and more news on the game every 2 weeks to a month of more CoroCoro Magazine info. I really loved the names of these versions though, it was something that must have stuck with a lot of people back then int the excitement for release.

12/09/2003:

This was when the ROM dumps came out. They released them while I was in school, I had my games on Preorder from NCS at the time. I had not known about backup / flash cartridges at the time so I had to use emulation if I wanted to view and play early. One of my good friends was with me, and I had gotten him into the series since a few of my other friends stopped playing at 2 and 3 so it was perfect. I was very excited about Full Synchro, it looked so cool. And Soul Unison was pretty neat over Style Changes, which was a nice change at the time. I thought it added more strategy to battles. And the BGM was glorious. The Title Screen Theme was on the Official Site at the time. Very excited though.

12/12/2003:
I will never forget that day. I remember I stayed home from my Junior year from High School, I couldn't even sleep the next day. Since I knew my copies of the game were coming in the mail. Usually shipment comes to them on Thursday, and I get my shipment from them the next day. I was playing Soldier of Fortune II Double Helix on the original Xbox on Live with some friends and family. I checked my status of where the package was while I waiting for the map to load, and it was delivered. Turned the Box off, went outside, got the package, and opened it. Everything was so cool about this. Both cartridges were colored, which was the best touch I thought. And most copies did come with Axess Series Battle Chips of MeteorRedSun and BlueMoonRay depending which version you bought. Hooked up the ol' GB Player, and it was wonderful. I think it was snowing that day too. So it was very fun. I would progress through my games like so since my Friends at school could play my other version, since they wouldn't be able to play it for half a yearish anyway.

I was kind of annoyed at the time by multi-playthroughs, it was a nuisance trying to keep up and make sure you've gotten every vital Upgrade or Chip. Not to mention, these games had a nasty habit back then of erasing save data, especially my Tournament Red Sun. And I needed to keep backups with my GameShark which a made a Action Replay V3 at the time. Half the time I would have to restart or do multiple attempts to get my save data back then. I just wish I knew about the Flash Carts and it's linkers back then so I could have avoided this.

Maybe it had something to do with game being huge in the end? Or maybe my hardware was dusty / faulty...

-Lotto Number (Anime, Books, Advanced PET, CD, etc)

-Card e-Reader+ (Kaizou System of Customization)

-Battle|Progress Chip / Beast Link Gate

(Operation Battle Mode [4&5], Team Battle, NDC Install [6], Chip Support)

-Rockman Zero 3 (Z Saber Mega Class Chip acquisition (4))

-Bokura no Taiyou (Cameo, Crossover Battle 1-2 (5&6))

This game would set the standard for years to come in terms of gameplay and the connectivity above for each future title. This game ended up being the best handheld Rockman ever to be sold in Japan, or probably worldwide. And the sales would die down after each year until they eventually stopped producing Action RPG Rockman titles in late 2009. With 2010, and there on never having another title again. I do have to say that I am disappointed by this. Especially since it was the best sold one for the handheld market. It's a shame that it's been so long, and that nothing has been done like a re-release / enhanced port anytime for this year. Yes, I would like a 3DS Cartridge of something like this. Make them single game carts, or split it into two cartridges for the whole series. Not Zero Collection bad, and definitely not a lackluster Virtual Console release. I actually favor this more than the SSR games, the 3D ruined the genre of these games, and it would get progressively worse until it wasn't interesting anymore. EXEOSS released as the final game counting each year. We did make it back to EXE though. I hope something happens with Capcom. Since this franchise never did them wrong, especially 10 years ago. And you might not like 4, while it might have been annoying for most people. Give it a try again, keep track of the things you collect in each playthrough. Especially without additions like the Kaizou System or Operation Battle Mode, this game is still fun to me. Some of these years have been a big part of my life next to the original series of games. And it's been a great 10 years if I say so myself.

"Hoarding" 101

Really??

How sad. To work so hard. For so little.

So much for the incomplete set of e-Reader Cards that the illegal dumping scene has, Eh?

You'll never get this Card at this rate.

EXE4 Battle Master's Bible ~ Soul Entries

Rockman EXE4 Battle Master Bible

Battle Master's Bible

I've recently obtained the Battle Master's Bible to EXE4. It shows just about every Power Up and Battle Chip to EXE4 and on Maps so it's easy to pin-point where each item is. It covers what's in each Playthrough, 1~3 and 4+ which is very nice especially if you're restarting. The only thing that it lacks is the Secret Chip Library (Shows how you get them though), Duo D, DarkMemory, Card e-Reader+ information. For 399 Pages, it was definitely worth it in the end I thought. It may not be as big as the "Rockman EXE5 Official Kanzen Guide (Revised Edition)", but it's very nice especially for a Non-Secret Guidebook for this game finally. Better than Capcom Books Original Release only being around 200+ Pages or so.

I've recently restarted Rockman EXE4 Tournament Red Sun & Blue Moon for fun on my Game Cartridges. This was a mystery to me on my previous game as I faced against Numberman on my 4th Playthrough at the Hawk Tourmament on Red Sun, and Fireman on Blue Moon. I thought that you could actually just fight the other version Soul Navis on 4~6 Playthroughs. Not to mention you can Encounter the V2~3 & SP Soul Navis from the other versions like this and get Records for them instead of linking up both versions.

Soul Entries

It seems that Soul Entries from other versions are the only way to do this, especially from the beginning of the game trying this. The Battle Master's Bible states that this can be done. You also must need to get the Soul Unison in the certain version in order to send entries to another.

City Battle Tournament (Red Sun Left | Blue Moon Right)

Hawk Tournament (Red Sun Left | Blue Moon Right)

Red Sun / Blue Moon Tournament

This is only on my First Playthrough too. Back then I usually played these games at the same point getting to a certain extent on both before going back to the other. I've been doing the very same now.

EXE4 Parts 1~4 Complete ~ DarkMemory?

EXE4 P1~4 Complete ~ DarkMemory?

#027 makes Collection Full Circle | GBASP KeysFactory Armor, Carts, and SCT Cards

I've finally obtained the last Modification Card for Rockman EXE4 that I was missing, #027. It's a Charge Weapon Modification that turns the Charge Shot into SpreadGun to Modification Address 0E. It's a shame to be missing such a weak card out there, but then again Part 1 seems to be rare altogether to see around certain places, including it's Box of 30 Packs. On YJ! Auctions, it usually used to sell for around 5,000 Yen in 2004 when the first part came out in Feburary 2004. Another time in 2005, I saw it going for over 20,000 Yen. In the Present time in 2008. I've seen it an auction for around 5,500. Just like the price for 2004. I always figured there was a demand issue not having enough prints for Part 1. It was always common for me to usually see Parts 2-4. Even on NCS I've seen Modification Card Part 3, and that's purely an Import Game Site in English. I bought a Box of Part 3 from there before I was into auctioning in late 2004. It was right on my 18th Birthday, I had the money and just took a shot not caring about cost. It's kind of how I got the Duo D Special Chip Transmission Card in the second picture, which was also rare to see and that was way after around the time of Survival Netbattle 04' in the Summer. It was definitely worth it taking the risks. Having the Cards and the Data was a legendary thing back then I thought, especially in the EXE4 days back when there weren't such ways like Cheat Device codes to make customary data to get the Sometype of Data for GrandPrixPower G and Duo D.

Dumping Dot Code Data digitally for Fun

Looking at the Cards always made me want to have them, especially the reports in CoroCoro Magazine back when PMM used to have Scans up. My Cousin originally had a USA e-Reader at the time back when that released in 2003 I think? I was showing off my Gameboy Advance SP before it was even released in America. Then he showed me the e-Reader, I always liked the fact that you could play classic NES games. I did end up purchasing an English one before I bought a Japanese Card e-Reader+ for the Rockman Cards just to see how it was like. I never ended up getting the Super Mario Advance 4 e-Cards due to the USA release being incomplete in the end having no third and fourth series? I also never ended up purchasing the Japanese Version for the Card that comes bundled with the game, "World 1-1". When the Japanese Release of Rockman EXE4 came out, I didn't bother looking at the back of the box to see what it was compatible with. Then the first CoroCoro Issue showing off the Cards really excited me. I knew since I had an interest with the EXE Series that I had to get these Cards no matter what. It's also 4 years in the making just about for my EXE4 Modification Card Collection, it was a long road in the end in terms of collecting the Cards with Dot Codes on them. I have #000~#132 at this point in time now. I'm missing some Part 1 Character Cards and a couple of Part 2 Character Cards, otherwise that's probably the only thing I'm missing that I'm not really concerned about only because there's no Dot Code on the Cards for sending it to the game.

DarkMemory?

I'm also really not sure what to make of this. As far as I remember back in the EXE4 era, this Navi Customizer Program takes up the 5x5 of the Navi Customizer MAP, and the effect of the block allows you to use Dark Chips without using 1HP for every battle that you use Dark Chips. I actually remember seeing this on PMM during before Spring 2004 or then. It's obtained via e-Reader+ Card, and acquired by purchasing the Advanced PET ~ Forte Version. I'm assuming this is for First Prints. Some others have said it's called DarkLicense like EXE3 or called it that upon assumption. And that it could be acquired through the Battle Chip Gate and slotting in a certain Chip. But there's no way to actually do this anyways, since having the Battle Chip Gate connected upon Boot Up makes it so you can only choose Operation Battle Mode at the Title Screen of the game and play a seperate game mode. Yes, you could attach it while it's in the main game, but I haven't had any luck using any of the Battle Chips I have. I think this is another assumption again due to the whole Rockman Zero 3 ordeal with the Battle Chip Gate device with that, as you can use just two Battle Chips to unlock 4 Minigames right at the Start of the game.

I've done some Search Engine checking. I've seen information for DarkMemory (Yes, It's definitely called DarkMemory from my sources) being a Card, and having some Cheat Code effects. Although I have not been able to get them to work due to the programming of EXE4 and it's Random Data Blocks. In the end, this is probably the last thing I'm missing in Rockman EXE4. I'm forced to just carry on with what I have right now. Even searching around in early 2004 on YJ Auctions, I have never seen this Card ever. It's more like a nightmare for me. It's impossible to get this legit unless there was such a thing as a Time Machine. Using RockmanDS would have been nice without losing any HP, the only thing that holds me back is not having DarkMemory. If I had that, then I'd make two saves. One for the Virtue State and one for RockmanDS. Codes are welcome in the Comments if you have any to offer, I'd be greatful to obtain this anyway I can. Wish I saved the working code back in 2004 on GameFAQs.
